In Year 7 pupils will study the new Science framework. This includes How Science Works which explores how Science impacts on everyday life and society. It looks at the role of Scientists, how they work and communicate ideas to each other and the wider community.

All Year 10 and 11 students follow an AQA Science GCSE course. All students follow the Core Science/Science A course (one Science GCSE). The vAst majority of students also complete the Additional Science course (a second Science GCSE). Sets one and two should achieve 3 GCSE Science grades in each of Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Set three students should achieve 2 GCSE Science grades in Core and Additional Science.

Students in sets four, five and six who are starting Year 11 in September 2012 have compled a BTEC Science qualification and will soon be starting a Core Science GCSE course.

All students staring Year 10 in September 2012 will have the opportunity to achieve both a Core and an Additional Science GCSE.
